Former Vice President Joe Biden’s niece avoided jail time on Thursday after a Manhattan Criminal Court judge sentenced her to serve just two years on probation after admitting to stealing more than $100,000 in a credit card scam. Caroline Biden did not appeal the decision and will serve a two-year probation sentence after she pleaded guilty in June 2017 to spending $110,810 on a shopping spree with her friend’s “borrowed” credit card. According to the New York Post, Caroline told Justice Curtis Farber at her Thursday sentencing that she “deeply regretted” her actions and appreciated being able to skirt serious jail
