The state Senate in California passed legislation on Tuesday that will raise the legal purchasing age for rifles and shotguns as well as impose more stringent restrictions on other long guns. According to Fox News, Democrat state Sen. Anthony Portantino, the leader of the measure, praised the state Senate for infringing on the Second Amendment. “If D.C. won’t, California will,” he said after the measure was passed.
